Smartmation, TeLIoT And OrbiWise Launch LoRaWAN® Street-Lighting In Uruguay, Taking Remote Lighting Control Management To The Municipality Of Rivera.

The project launches Smartmation’s and TeLIoT’s trajectory in the implementation of remote management systems with LoRaWAN technology in the region. The implementation will allow the city of Rivera to improve its luminaires maintenance and optimize its energy consumption.

Progress has been made with the installation of a state-of-the-art public smart lighting controller system. This work includes the installation of 4,500 LoRaWAN nodes for the Municipality of Rivera and 16 LoRaWAN Gateways provided by TeLIoT S.R.L. OrbiWise is providing its industry leading LoRaWAN Network Server (LNS), OrbiWAN, to oversee the entire network and help Smartmation and TeLIoT provide a flawless service.

This complete lighting and network management system, with a node on each luminaire, will allow the municipality to reduce the maintenance costs of their lighting infrastructure and gain insight in the state of the infrastructure 24/7, benefiting all the citizens of Rivera. As a result, the municipality of Rivera will at all times have precise information on the infrastructure improving the quality and availability of its public lighting service.
